About this deal

I feel like I say this every time Abby releases a new book, but this honestly feels like her best yet. The dual POV gives us a glimpse of two completely different stories, and lives, and slowly merges them into one complex yet beautiful story. Also, if you really think about it, it makes no sense Emma would give up Hawaii for Minnesota (this felt like a crime) to break the relationship curse when her entire "thing" is she's constantly on the move and refuses to settle down.

People like Emma need people like Maddy to keep them in check, to remind them who abandoned them, who hurt them, who didn’t care which was always Amber. When a woman slides into his DMs with the same problem, they come up with a plan: They'll date each other and break up.While her three sons spend the summer holiday with their father, Kate has an opportunity to prove to herself that there is a new life, after her divorce.

Emma needed to work on herself and I was beyond proud of her for realizing that she’d only become the person she hated the most (Amber) to Justin’s siblings if she stayed. While this wasn't my favorite Jiminez book, I found it to be a compulsive page-turner and immediately connected to the characters.

She NEVER complained about Emma's selfishness; she was fiercely protective, patient, and endlessly selfless. This releases in April but was absolutely one I was delighted to end my year with, as it was hands down a top 5 read of the year for me. Both are dealt shitty cards in life either in the past or present and we follow their journey of healing and acceptance. By completing your purchase, you agree to Audible's Conditions of Use and authorise Audible to charge your designated card or any other card on file. The bakery has since gone on to win numerous Food Network competitions and, like her books, has amassed an international following.

This is a fairly typical romance, which combines a couple of tropes, which I'm not going to discuss because I'm not into spoilers. The chemistry between the two main characters is undeniable, and the teasing/banter will make you sweat. I think that it's also important to mention that his is by far her darkest book because it deals with a lot of heavy topics and I would check trigger warnings before diving into this one. Every time Justin dates someone they quickly break it off and immediately go on to find the love of their life. This is my first Abby Jiminez that I completed (dnfed Yours Truly—no I won't be taking questions at this time) and I did find it funny.

Once again, Abby has knocked it out of the park with deep and complex relationships of all kinds, addressing real-life and often ugly and scary mental health issues and the carnage they can leave within us, and somehow manages to make us laugh in the midst of it. Overall, this book was relatable for me on many levels and one I would recommend for someone who loves a story of healing, true friendship, and the realities of love. I highly recommend reading Part of Your World and Yours Truly to really appreciate this story in its entirety.

With over 6 million of the world’s best eBooks to choose from, Kobo offers you a whole world of reading. Seems like the curse was actually working in her favor because she never had to worry about "the one that got away". From the bestselling author of Yours Truly comes a story about a summer fling, a complicated family and unexpected feelings.
