About this deal

For example, only minutes after meeting Taylor, Myles steals Taylor’s underwear from her suitcase and proceeds to keep them in his pocket. When she found the dead body she didn't panic, she used her intuition and found some evidence, she put herself in Myles's path and forced him to notice her (although she didn't have to try very hard, her bikini top and shorts did all the talking), she took control of her own sexuality and demanded Myles to show her what it's like to have the type of sex she dreamed of.

I didn’t go into this book expecting the most groundbreaking mystery or thriller novel, however, I was disappointed about how little of a role this part played in the actual story. The will-they-won't-they bullshit we were lead to endure by his POV was exausting because poor fucker was on a spiral that convinced no one but himself; he was like "she's so innocent and lovely and she doesn't deserve a man like me.

I really liked the mystery aspect in the book, it was fun trying to solve the crime along with the characters. TL:DR: this review has so many question marks because i do not understand the good ratings this book is getting. Now a rude, crude bounty hunter has arrived on the back of his motorcycle to catch the killer and refuses to believe I can be helpful, despite countless hours of true crime podcast listening. This bad boy parks his motorcycle and his tattoos right in front of our delicate flower (becaue of course she's impressed by the tattoos and the bike and the broody aura and the massive mountain of muscles he OBVIOUSLY is sporting)'s rental house, sees her, and immediately thinks "I got to open her up like an oyster". Myles is adorable and so grumpy-honest, looks like he could kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll, morally grey ish, touch her and die ish, who did this to you ish. Tessa Bailey has always had an eminently readable style, and that's part of the charm of her writing. I don't always like a sunshine FMC, but Taylor won me over easily with how she cared about her brother and how she wanted to help others. A brash bounty hunter and an energetic elementary schoolteacher: the murder-solving team no one asked for, but thanks to these pesky attempts on my life, we're stuck together, come hell or high tide.

And I’ve become way too attuned to my taste that reading terrible books is not all that common for me. The only thing that didn't work for me is that I'm a sucker for slow burns and this one was insta lust which doesn't resonate well with me. The relationship was sweet, funny and surprisingly way less cringe than what I expect a Tessa Bailey book to be. or there was a scene where taylor was on the hot pavement and her feet was burning so myles pulled her on top of his boots but a few cute scenes didn’t made the book good for me bc i was annoyed by him in like 60% of the book.Really makes me wanna throw my panties at your face and let you go full korean buffet on my lower parts. I also liked the introduction of their childhood friend, although he somehow vanished after a few pages.
