About this deal

The midrange is great in terms of tonality and the vocal performance is mostly excellent (unless you are fan of growling metal vocals).

Lastly, I used them for a whole month before writing this review, this is not a “gotta review this in one-week” kinda impression/review post.

So, pick your poison intelligently or ask for recommendations from those who actually have it, because the Starfield will alter in tonal smoothness with superior sources.

So songs with fast paced tempo and vocals will not sound rushed with Starfield, but instead deliver it fast without losing details. Thankfully, as far as I'm aware, Moondrop IEMs are generally tuned the Harman target, which means there's a bit of bass emphasis and it has a bit more of a clockwise tilted frequency response (think more relaxed in the treble). There are no nasal tendencies, but I do notice some issues in the upper mids that make the IEM feel just a bit offset when compared to the treble just above. As I've said, the Starfield is not even near being "light-weight" which means comfort and fit can be really tricky for some. Sometimes I do need to push them back in as they slightly slip out of the ears, even with the smallest ear tips, mainly because they are a weighty pair of IEM’s, luckily, this isn't all of the time. The Moondrop Starfield is a universal monitor that uses a carbon nanotube diaphragm 10mm dual cavity dynamic driver.
